Album Notes

The music of Kaori Kashi is a synthetic poem. It is a contradiction of organic roots meets electronic dance. Her lyrics are poetically narrative, powerfully relocate you into her stories. Once you sit and listen to the sounds of Kaori Kashi you are no longer in your own reality. You become a resident of something sad and happy at the same time, drawn in by sweet melody's, lost in a sound of trickling streams, rain, and wind all the while dancing and grooving. You might experience your first love again or finish an illicit love affair. Her music never gets old even after you listen to it 100 times.

Each song from Kaori Kashi has its own places and colors which you fall into. You can feel the time and people, see the images and smell the aura. Kaori's original music style hates the ordinary solution and routines. Her attitude is a fight toward plastic consumable music and its listeners. This doesn't mean that she hates pop music. Because her songs have the element of J-pop that she grew up singing and dancing with. Kaori Kashi respects Michael Jackson as a God and admires Bjork as her musical mother.

Kaori Kashi is a one woman orchestra that could only be reproduced with a symphony of musicians.

Some songs on this debut ep were written and recorded in Sunnyside, New York city and the others were recorded in a remote country side, Nyuzen Japan, mixed and mastered in Swing Bamboo Studio at Shibuya in Tokyo
