Album Notes

This album was conceived in May of 2008. After two solo CDs I had said what I wanted to say on the solo bass guitar front. So I've spent five years of playing folk music with the Dave Rowe Trio. Still, I heeded the call to go back to my rock roots. To be clear, my roots are steeped in metal, prog rock and punk like The Who, the Stooges, The Ramones, Husker Du, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, King Crimson, Yes and Voivod. I had lots of music that had never been recorded that were a mix of prog and metal overlaid with funk and disco beats so that's what I went for. My friend Larry Averill added most of the guitar you hear on the CD and good friend Seth Warner provided drums when I was not using drum machines. Another friend, Michael Prescott added the shredder guitar on Fools, I'll Destroy Them All! DB1, Ed Howe, Albert Ellis and Gary Larson provided inspiration for song titles. Peter Hamill provided inspiration for my 'vocal' performances. I cling to an old maxim on this CD I told my friend Andy Sullivan years ago about rock songwriting, when in doubt, add loud guitars. Enjoy!
