"Darkness Still Remains" (AKA - Flashback PTSD) , is performed by Kirk W. Boland, his brother, Charlie Boland, and Kirk's son, Kirk Wesley Boland, Jr.
The song was written, and then rewritten several times after Kirk (Sr.), would return from War Zones with more changes after talking with Marines and Soldiers. Then Kirk(Sr.) and his son, Kirk (Jr.) would rework the song to reflect how members of our armed forces had their lives and families changed forever with the many back to back deployments to the War Zones.

The songwriters would like to see a major recording artist step up and record this song, to get the
Traumatic Brain Injury / PTSD message out there to more Americans that are not touched by our wars.

ABOUT THE SONGWRITERS - Kirk(Sr.) is a former U.S. Army Guard helicopter pilot, that had also served as an enlisted member in the U.S. Air Force in aircraft maintenance as a crew chief on RF-4C Phantom IIs.
Kirk(Sr.) has also worked for the DoD at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC, also working at FOB Camp Ramadi, and TQ Airbase, Iraq in 2006, 2007, and in Afghanistan in 2009, 2010.

Kirk W. Boland(Sr.), an ASCAP member, has written military tribute music for more than twenty years, always trying to highlight the great sacrifice our men and women serving in our armed forces endure for all of our freedoms.

Kirk Wesley Boland, Jr. is a U.S. Army ROTC Cadet in college, and will serve as a U.S. Army officer upon graduation.
He was in Navy JROTC in high school, Young Marines, Young Leaders Of America and was a People To People Ambassador
traveling overseas.
Kirk Jr., plays classical guitar, as well as songwriting with his father Kirk(Sr.).
