Kamouna means Cumin in Arabic. Its also a reference to Lala Mimouna, a Gnawa saint often invoked by this brotherhood.
This song is inspired by his journey in Morocco. Moreover, it’s a tribute to the Gnawas. Their rhythms are close to the trance musics of Bahia-Brasil .
Street noises in Merrakesh, snake charmers and water carriers join in with instruments like “gambri”, karkabous and bendir as well as Berber vocals. It’s a message of love.

Kim-Poh, the divine Malaysian-Chinese flutist. "He is my friend. We toured around the world for almost eight years. Through his multi-ethnic Asian background, Kim-Poh introduced me to the diversity of echoes in the Malaysian jungle. With the sound of his flute, he took me into the world of the Chinese songs of meditation.
