Album Notes

Kurt Metzger has been writing and performing music for friends, colleagues, and family for many years. Hundreds of fans around the country have performed his original compositions, and thousands more have listened to his piano solos, string quartets, choral works, and full-scale theatrical productions.

Kurt’s music is always passionate, emotional, and stirring. He usually writes for, and performs with, a variety of vocal and instrumental musicians; this “solo” album is somewhat new for him. Still, the original arrangements included in this collection are all Kurt—warm and unique as ever.

The Warmest Christmas is the result of years of encouragement by Kurt’s fans to expand his reach. This album would not have been possible without the hundreds of hours of work donated by his friends. And Kurt’s music would not be as rich and full as it is without the devotion of his wife and children. Their love for him, and his for them, enables him to compose powerful music from deep inside his heart. That strong mutual affection forms the core of his inspiration and radiates from each new song he creates.

The music on this album is dedicated first and foremost to Kurt’s wife and children. Without their dedication to him, the rest of us would not be able to enjoy the warmth his music brings.
