Laudanum Forest music may sound very familiar although there is nothing that sounds like it. That is because the familiarity is not really in the songs, words, tunes, but in the feelings that we recognise. There is the darkness and light, there is fear and courage that comes from despair and there is hope that knows it has lost but still shines its quiet naïve light. There are all the things that we can't name.
There they are, trying to take shape in front of our eyes against the darkness but our pupils can't get wide enough to see them. We see them dance but we can't see what they are. We wonder if we should try to catch them because who knows, they might be dangerous, maybe it's better not to know them too well, but before we decide whether to touch them or not, they are gone.
They run away giggling. And we are left alone in the dusk wondering if that was real and whether that was really a joke played on us or something we had imagined. Puzzled. Scared but smiling. Smiling but uncertain. That is Laudanum Forest's music. Beautiful and scary but don't be scared because it's a friend. It will embrace you with love and will leave you still scared but with beautiful unearthly light inside.

High quality music that never looses control of the quirky parts, or slipping away in long instrumental passages. This is well-balanced progressive pop! Great melodies with a great voice. For those who like 10cc, Marillion, XTC...
