Fans and critics have found this album to be the best so far from the band, and musically it's a darker and heavier step forward buried in a more superior production. Singer/songwriter, doom- prog- trash- landscapes of pure energy, beauty and emotion!

Album Notes

Lava Engine is a rock act based in Sweden, very much categorized in the vein of progressive rock/metal. A while after the release of the self-titleed 2008 mini-album, the band lost it's drummer and almost right away they were connected with a new one, Mick Nordström. There were also a few bassplayers that stepped in and out helping out when previous member Vanja Hadzic left the band. In favor of recording this follow up album, Simon Dahlström joined and melted into the lava easily. Performing on this album are therefore :

Magnus Florin - vocals & guitars
Ronnie Jaldemark - guitars & keyboards
Mick Nordström - drums & vocals
Simon Dahlström - bass

This marked a big change in not least the musical quality as well as the direction, making it take even more step towards the darker and heavier sides of progrock. Lava Engine will never consider them to be a pure metal band, but instead a rock band with a heavy sound (if that make sense). And this is what has happened with the new album; Musically we're still talking the emotional rock mixed with singer/songwriter style and emotion, added with progressive and symphonic genres of music as well as modern pop, rock and metal. But there will always be a thin thread to follow with each song, and this album isn't different in any way.

The response so far have been that the band has evolved from being a liltle colorful pupa and is now a fullgrown butterfly. The songwriting skills are there, and now even better arranged as well as performed, and on top of all this this follow up album is in the hands of very much better production work. Recorded by the band themselves, mixed by Lava drummer and way back experienced studio engineer and finalized and mastered by phantom guitarist of Narnia, CJ Grimmark.
