After his 2009 release of Heathen Blux, which made many critic's top ten of '09 lists, Lee Miles has come out with a stripped down, down and out piece of music that fans of the work of Townes Van Zandt or Harvest-era Neil Young will certainly identify with. Open Your Grievous Heart isn't derivative - far from it! This collection of songs can stand with league with the afore mentioned without hesitation... Standouts (in this writer's humble opinion) on the album include "Tourniquet" "Johanna" and "Mid-Morning High". All in all, another great set of songs from one of the Midwest's finest! - Gold for Bread

Wonderful
author: Matthew Ginn
Lee has outdone himself with this new EP. While I struggled to identify with his previous work (my fault, not the music's), I am completely blown away by Grievous Heart. Each song is its own masterpiece, while still maintaining a connection to the collection as a whole. Wonderful...simply wonderful.
