Album Notes

Leigh Harrison is a singer/songwriter with roots in folk,
rock, country, and the blues, and has created a body of
songs that cover all those bases as well as songs that are drawn from where these genres converge: country-rock to blues-rock to country blues.

Her first collection, "Eclectic Chanteuse" also features a Hawaiian-style song ("My Aloha Baby"), a tribute to the people who died during 9/11 ("Grey Roses") and a poem set to music ("What Any Lover Learns"). Pre-release copies of this CD led people to describe it as "the Dixie Chicks meet Eric Clapton," because of the country-flavored vocals and Bobby Perfect's smooth, bluesy guitar. Others have said "a delicious journey from first song to last" with lyrics that range from haunting jazzy pop ("Once in a Blue, Blue Moon") to sassy, whimsical country rock ("Can't Wait to Love You"). Leigh Harrison is an excellent songwriter.

Ms. Harrison has a voice that handles power pop, Chicago-style blues-rock and sensitive ballads with equal taste and style. Anyone who enjoys superb lyrics, cool guitar, and glistening production values won't be disappointed.
