(from press release): Lenny Hamilton Jr. made a drastic decision in his approach to pursue a full-time career as a working musician, producer, & writer; he decided to record and perform his own songs for a change! The end result is a brand new soulful CD entitled 'WAYOUT'. Subtitled 'Portfolio Vol. 1', 'WAYOUT' is comprised of 17 tracks and is around 72 minutes of music.

The original intent for developing this project was to assemble a non-artist driven body of work that would showcase what Lenny does as a producer and writer... much the same way a photographer might demonstrate with a portfolio of photos. However, the process of making ‘WAYOUT’ evolved a great deal over the course of 4 years.

"I fell in love with the entire process. I really thought about people who would be listening to the album and wondered if I might have something more substantial to offer than just presenting examples of my work for a potential gig, artist, etc. I wondered, ‘What if I record something that inspires someone or resonates well with certain audiences?’ How amazing that would be! ! So I really put my heart into it and went the extra mile to do the best album I could for myself and anyone who hears it." [Lenny]
