The first track , “Welcome to the Dark”, is heavily influenced by Celtic folk, and celebrates the return of witch spirits who fled the earth during the Burning Times. Second track, “I’m Here”, has unorthodox and unusual chords and chord sequences, with a lyric melody floating on top like icing on a cake. The lyrics expand “I’m Here” to the awareness of presentness, nature’s beauty and savagery arm-in-arm. Track number three (“Calling the Spirits”) uses vocal overtones, voice/guitar counter-rhythm patterns and vocalisations to depict the stream of consciousness descending into the meditative state. The fourth track is a simple love song. Fifth track uses the sharp nine chord as a starting point for unusual dissonances, with the sharp and natural of a note cancelling each other in the right and left hand, supplemented by goofy lyrics. . “Way of Beauty”, my love song to nature and wilderness, which is my salvation and escape from all kinds of human insanity. “Fly, Hawk, Fly”, the natural world again, this time incarnating hope for the future in the form of a circling hawk.
