Album Notes

Electronic pop artist Lindsay Rae Spurlock makes music designed to pick you up and carry you away. Regardless of what emotional current is coursing through your system, the work of Spurlock will bring you to an inspired place inside your mind and on the windstream off this excellent songwriting.
For Spurlock, music is a release, and her music is a release for her listeners. “Music gives me a high and a release like nothing else in this world. It is amazing to create music and use my emotions to perform it for people.” Spurlock’s songs send an electric message of musical energy to her listeners, with engaging lyrics and melodic power.
Music is a method of seeking. Just ask Spurlock. She embraces questions common to all people and explores those questions with the undeniable power of her music. “I write about things and situations that perplex me. Writing songs is a way to figure out answers, not necessarily to the situation but more for inner realization.” Spurlock passes on this exploratory potency to her listeners and creates a communicative environment of seeking for all interested fans.
Great songwriting confronts life and thus requires a songwriter who is in tune with life. “Life inspires me. Every instance in life. I’m constantly experiencing new situations and everything is constantly changing … (Writing) is an inner self-release, an outlet to achieve some sort of understanding about the world that I’m living in.” Spurlock’s attention to the details of life is what imbues her songwriting with such passion and honesty and that captures listeners.
Spurlock has opened for Lisa Loeb and has received offers from the likes of KT Tunstall and Imogen Heap. She to New Yorhas recently relocated to New York and plans touring in the near future. Writing is ongoing and a new EP is in the works. She is currently working with A&R Select, the leading independent A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
“Spurlock’s songcraft calls to mind both classic electronically rooted rock greats but also pushes ahead into the future of rock and roll.” – A&R Select

I loved November, a simple but poignant song of love. Let it Go should strike a chord, no pun, with anyone who has had to move on. Mother was straight to the punch! I found this CD to be a great buy and enjoyed all 8 cuts. I'll be looking for her next one!
