Album Notes

"LOIDE, Live at the Bohemian Caverns” is a 12 track LP that takes you on a musical and cultural journey that can be enjoyed by everyone, it’s jazzy, it’s raw, and she reflects this new era of the “Afropolitian” representing for those of us that embrace the complexities of our cultures. Loide finds a way to intertwine the contemporary jazz ranges of Nancy Wilson with the soul of Cesaria Evora, as she eases back and forth from English to her native tongue, Portuguese offering with each track a unique sound and perspective.

WOW!!!
author: Jacques
This CD is a nice blend of Bebel Gilberto, Cesaria Evora and Sade. Loide's rich sound makes you want more. Her hypnotic voice, sunroof open, and the crisp feel of fall, who needs anything else? I'm excited to hear more from this new artist and encourage everyone to experience this musical journey themselves!

Amazing
author: Morel
I bought this album purely by recommendation of a friend of mine who is a regular "groupie" on the DC jazz circuit. It sat in my bag for about two weeks, and when I finally broke it out and popped it in my car during my long commute home one day, by the time I got home, I was so mezmerized by Loide's voice that I was unable to get out of the car. Since then, this album is in constant rotation in my CD player. The album is a surreal and an eclectic mix of sound, culture, and language, that keeps you asking "what's next?" (in a good way) once each song ends. It all fits together quite perfectly, however, and the most suprising aspect of this album for me is that Loide is able to traverse each sound with such fluency, and ease. I can't wait to see what's next from Loide, and encourage anyone who wants to expand their musical catalog to pick up Loide's mucial genius!!!
