From their first time on stage together in 2006 through hundreds of three-hour marathon evenings in the local bars to this (as of this deadline, nearly sold-out) event, Longneck Strangler has been perfecting their unique sound and delighting fans of modern country, classic country and rock and roll. Their ‘red velvet and whiskey’ shows run deep with fiddle breakdowns, guitar histrionics, gospel harmonies and even a drum solo. And when you distill this all down into one showcase set, you get a show that burns like White Lightning. Their blistering performance has even prompted legendary drummer Johnny “Bee” Badanjek (Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Edgar Winter, the Rockets, Howling Diablos) to step to the microphone and ask the crowd, “How do you follow that?”

“We’re known for ‘strangling’ other peoples’ songs, turning them inside out,” explains ‘Guitar Rick’ Browarski. “We’ll play classic rock songs like a country band and then add some fire to the classic country, which helps everyone meet in the middle. It’s also taught us a lot about great songwriting. You have to learn how to speak the language before you can write your own novel.”

The results of this education in songcraft were apparent even before the release of Misery Loves Company, as their devoted following will sing along – word for word – with songs that have yet to be recorded. Their self-deprecating sense of humor, evident in their lyrics, also helps to endear them to their fans:
