Album Notes

This is my first album, I hope you like it. I spent the better part of 2009 in a basement studio with Dan Forsyth and Joe Kollar of Driftwood ( you can get their album here too) making this. I came with 7 complete songs and wrote three songs within the last three weeks of recording. Making this record was a very creative process with all of us writing vocal harmonies and arrangements as we recorded them. I couldn't have asked for a better experience recording this album :) For more info you can go to my website http://www.lukuswells.com

Lovely, sweet Voice. Songs will remind you of the best of Paul's solos when he was with the Beatles. "All of Me" offers contagious lyrics/melody; an instant & memorable hit for listeners. "Sad" is a nice bluesy number; the banjo was an usual addition but it works well; reminded me of acoustical Clapton. And "Static" gave me goose bumps. I thought it was "visual," like a movie score. The lyrics throughout have a nice element of surprise, like Avril Lavigne's songs--but without the screaming.

You can't ask for a better first album than Diagonal. To me, it sounds like a kind of cross between Ani DiFranco and Jewel, sung by a guy--it's got the guitar vibe of early Ani but with Jewel-esque lyrics. I particularly like Sad. It has a different sound than a lot of the album. I also love Blessed Be, probably the happiest track on the disc. Can't wait to hear more from Lukus Wells. Keep up the good work!
