Lyrical Movements is at it again. This woman has single handedly morphed a twenty-four hour day into one week. How else could she find the time to bless us with, “Lyrical Movements ~ When Butterflies Harden”, her sophomore CD? The way she lives her life baffles the average, at least I can say she definitely…. baffles me. This Lyricist is bigger than the moment, she is already legendary. In minutes she is able to produce a masterpiece. As an educated peer I could not help but to ask her if she had ever studied abroad. Within minutes of speaking to her you can tell her vocabulary spanned different hemispheres, maybe even lifetimes. She smiled and meekly said “No, I have not had the pleasure to do so, although it has always been a dream of mine….” These Movements are currently felt all around the world; from London to Spain, and all without her ever setting foot outside the States.
Her style is like lightning, thunder and rain….. Yes, we all know of the three; everyone has heard them before, but never like this. Her passion is her gift, and she writes like a medium. “When Butterflies Harden” is sure to crossover to every other world of expression. She is taking the world of Poetry by storm. Originality is felt in every single verse. Not to mention she sings the adlibs on almost every track. The premise of this jewel is to display the wonderful and the treacherous components of Love. The hope born from “Mr. Mystery” will lead eligible bachelors to her doorstep. I am first fellows; so please join the line, behind me.
Even though the pain felt in “Lonely for Love” explains the emotions expressed when one truly feels this way, she effortlessly creates this lovely Lyrical rollercoaster by her experiences and we are grateful. For all the, non-believers of Love, she has covered all of your bases. The poem “Blood Diamonds”, a tribute to Mother Africa, will have you questioning your love of diamonds, as well as “This Goes Out”. This Poet takes the literal to the Lyrical, and innately moves at the right pace with whatever mood you happen to fall into, upon your exposure to her “Music = Heroin”, a dedication to her unconditional Love of Music. I have crowned her as the modern day Maya Angelou, even though she humbly denies being in the category. Despite the fact that her peers seem to think differently and the mere fact…. that she hasn’t even reached thirty. As one who is quoted as being “Inspired by the air itself, and the sheer fact that a butterfly’s wings have a part in the intricate puzzle of life and science”; what else did could one expect?
She will amaze anyone who listens to her, and you can trust me, I think Oprah is next…. I took care of my Christmas list….It was short, but I am finished courtesy of the Movements. This is the gift that keeps on giving. Great Poets are hard to find, so when you find them, it would be an injustice not to express our gratitude…. This is not an easy feat. I will end this review by saying ~ Make sure the rewind button works on your musical devices. Tracks #2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 12 are my favorites; I normally omit my favorites but…... That’s all I have to say….. This Poetry CD is for the all of the true fans……Lyrical Movements, Please ~ Follow the Movements…….Or elect to watch Poetry shrivel up and die in your arms…
