Album Notes

Brink Brinkman, after much prodding, has FINALLY put together a collection of 16 of his original songs on one recording. Backed by some of the finest musicians in music today, Brink sings the songs as he wrote them. From rousing bluegrass like "The Old Coal Mine" to touching ballads such as "She's a Stranger In His Mind" to inpirational gospel songs like "Beyond the Rain" the album shows Brink's talent and versatility as one of today's most sought after and respected songwriters. Here is what the great Grammy winner Carl Jackson said in the intro to "On the Brink of a Dream":

There’s just something special about hearing the songwriter perform his or her own song. All the sincere emotion and inspiration that originally flowed straight from the heart… through pen… to paper… comes full circle and this time travels freely to fingers and voice in its honest, original state. The result is as close as the listener can get to feeling exactly what the writer felt as the words fell on the page. Many times folks ask me how to write a song. There’s no simple explanation and certainly no substitute for God given abilities, but the best “nuggets” of advice I can offer are “paint a picture” or “think of it as a three minute movie”. My friend, Brink Brinkman, fully understands what I mean by those statements and if you don’t believe that, take a close listen to “He Never Went Away”. Just close your eyes and each scene of a true love story will unfold in living color. Thanks, Brink, for reminding me why I love “painting pictures” and “making movies”… great work.

Grammy winning Songwriter/Musician/Producer
