Hi Story lovers,
Some of you may already have these stories on audiocassette -- remember audiocassettes? Yep, they've about died out. So, here are the stories -- revived.
My nieces, nephews, cousins, and other folks not even related to me have listened to and loved these stories for years. They've shortened long car rides, entertained the bored, and made bedtime a fun time.
Stories included are:
The Bun -- this Russian folktale is familiar to many as a variant of The Gingerbread Man. Don't be surprised if listeners sing along with Bun.
Jack and the Wish Giver -- What if you were granted one wish, but you have three specific needs?
Coyote's Tail -- Coyote gets himself in trouble -- again - in this folktale from Mexico.
The King and His Advisor -- This folktale from India was carried to the USA by the family of Umang Badwhar who learned it from her grandfather who had heard it from his father. When she was in 8th grade, Umang heard me tell stories at her school. She wrote out and sent me the story. I've retold it with the permission of the Badwhar family.
Drakestail -- Travel to the king's palace with Drakestail, the business duck, in this fairy tale from France, and have fun joining in on Drakestail's traveling song.
The Poor Man and the Rich Man's Purse -- When a poor man finds a missing purse, he knows he needs the money; however, he also knows the right action would be to return it to it's rich owner. When the rich owner of the purse decides the poor man is a fool, a wise rabbi sets things right.
1000 Ideas -- Ideas? Yes, ideas are fantastic, but perhaps plans are better, in this tale from Russian and Ukrainian folklore.
Rabbit and the Alligators -- A tired rabbit's quick thinking and improvised singing save the day -- almost!
