The players make “Quite A View” shine. Pete and Joe Cash are brothers who have been playing in "True Blues" the upstate of South Carolina’s quintessential house band for 18 years (http://www.trueblues.us/). Joe sings bass in my church choir and plays a mean tambourine when the choir needs a little extra oomph. Steve Watson played in L.A. for a decade with the Mike Post Band. Post, if you remember, wrote music for Hill Street Blues, Magnum PI, LA Law, and all those eighties TV shows---all of which feature Steve jamming on guitar. Adrienne Davis and Jessica Rash conjure angel song with their backing vocals. Charlie Miller, who has recorded many solo piano albums ("The Prayer" is on CD Baby), adds a great touch on piano; and Billy Ricketts added not only soulful guitar and voice but also helpful advice at many steps along the way. Randy Tyner did the CD art and graphics, and Billy Ricketts, “Digital” Doug Mullinax and Eddie Howard were masters at the mixing board.
Of my previous projects (“Shadows on the Ceiling” 2005, “Blue” 2006, and “Rise” 2008), “Rise” is still in print and available on CD Baby and from me directly. Of the other projects featuring my songs, Loretta Rickett’s excellent “Finally” 2007, and the latest (2008) “Renewal Artists Sampler” are available, too, both at CD Baby.
Check out www.renewal-artists.com and find out about other projects friends of mine are working on, including Nicole Belanus’ debut album "Notes on Paper." Other projects are on the drawing board for 2010 and beyond. Thanks for supporting home-grown music.
