Album Notes

Memphis 59 began recording Ragged But Right in the summer of 2009, with the assistance of a trio of Grammy winners lined up to produce, engineer, and play on the record. Scheduled for a December 2009 release, the album stays true to the band’s straight-ahead, guitar-driven roots rock sound. Featuring 12 original tracks, Ragged But Right was recorded at the award-winning Bias Studios in Springfield, Virginia. Producer John Jennings was named 2008 Producer of the Year by the Washington Area Music Association, and has also worked with Grammy-winning artists Mary Chapin Carpenter, George Jones, Lyle Lovett, and Indigo Girls.

This is one CD where you can tell what kind of work went into writing, performing, and producing it. If you like the samples, the rest of the CD will deliver for you. Well done.

Tons of new bands and names are trying do it. Every day, month and year. Many were called ,only a few ones were THE CHOSEN . Well, you'll have to trust in me. This band has released a humble little masterpice in the Americana/ Alt. Country/Power Roots leftfield this year. Fans of electric Fender and jangle guitar sounds with flawless harmonies and ozonic chorus are welcome. "Black & White TV" is like Ryan Adams fronting The Long Ryders. The closing "Heartbreak Luck" blew my mind at first hearing. Pure MAGIC. This is the song Gary Louris forgot to include in "Tomorrow the Green Grass". genere.
