Monae Miller has been called to be a true minister of music. Gospel and Christian music has become church entertainment. This singer | songwriter | musician would like to bring the art of praise and worship back to the church and to the entire community by creating a unique sound that can crossover to the mainstream. Monae was born in Wichita, Kansas and raised in Austin, Texas. She studied classical piano for 10 years and has been playing by ear for the past 8 years. She became the band director at Greater Calvary Bible Church in Austin and has been singing and playing in the church ever since.
After getting married to Kyle Miller in 2006 and moving to Dallas, Monae joined a new ministry at Family Life Bible Church in Cedar Hill. She began an outreach ministry called The Gospel Jam which is a series of quarterly concerts that lend the stage to local Gospel and Christian artists that are on fire for the Lord and want to help evangelize God's word. Monae would like to reach those who would normally not attend church by creating an atmosphere of liberating praise.
This debut CD project has been a blessing to work on with some of the most anointed producers in the business such as Chris Spivey, Solomon Afolabi, and Dwayne Pugh. Monae is working in the studio now to release a full CD project in the Spring of 2010. Stay tuned. There will be some traditional gospel, jazz, funk, soul and even a bit of rock fushion on this project. The Lord has really showed favor on Monae as she continues to be obedient to God's calling.
