Album Notes

Drawing it's name from an unusual native tree found in central Chile, this quartet from Adelaide reaches for etheral soundscapes, courting the exotic in dark, romantic compositions that embrace worldly sounds. It's caprious style of music incorporates influences from classical to Latin to experimental, also drawing on contemporary and progressive genres.

The debut album from this quartet found it's title "Villanelles" whilst enthralled in Sylvia Plath's, The Bell Jar and Arials. A strong influence from poetry including Dorian Grey amongst others has somewhat inspired this instrumental album. The past few early performances from this quartet have included The Garden of Unearthly Delights and releasing the debut album at Womadelaide 2010.
