Odds Are, This album is full of WIN.

I gave the album a few spins to let it sink in, and I gotta say, that what you have here is pure gold!
from a writer's aspect, this is some great stuff you have here! the harmonies, guitar playing, in fact, all the instrumentation is spot on!
if there was only one down side to this album, being the audiophile I am, it... would be that the recording could have ended up a tad better. it's still really well recorded for a first album! especially how the guitar sounded.
all in all, it's amazing.
This album will have you hooked from the first chord on.

Let me tell you the odds...
author: Eduardo
Odds are, if you like folk music, if you like acoustic driven tunes, if you dig the DIY concept & hold simple, honest, soulful, songs over tricked out, technologically intense symphonies, you will love Nate Waggoner's work. I've had the chance to see him live a handful of times & I gotta admit he knows how to put on a show; from his witty jokes to the meaning behind his words, one is taken through a plethora of emotions & feelings throughout his set. In Never Tell Me the Odds, Nate really opens up to us about his personal life with songs such as "Virginia" & "Darling, You Waltzed the Last Dance", but it's his darker material such as "Bitter" & "Not Content" that takes us in a ride opposite from what your regular fame/fortune-thirsty-pop-idol-wannabee would find correct to say to appeal to the masses. Don't let this fool you though, Never Tell Me the Odds is surely packed with enough hit singles such as "Freedom in our Eyes" & "Fishin' for Religion" to keep you hooked. Songs such as "As My Brother" really hit the soul, while tracks like "Bear Claw Tracks" stand out from the rest. All in all, I think Never Tell Me the Odds is one of those CDs you put on & won't want to skip a single song.
