Album Notes

I REMEMBER YOU Nicki Gillis with Frank Ifield
Written by Victor Schertzinger and Johnny Mercer in 1941 I Remember You was first heard in the movie “The Fleet's In” (1942). It was initially sung by Dorothy Lamour and featured the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra.
Frank Ifield recorded the song in a yodeling country-music style in 1962 and his version went to #1 on the UK Singles Chart and #1 on the U.S. "Easy Listening” chart.
This version of the song was produced and recorded at Bob Howe’s Kenilworth Studios in Sydney, Australia with Bob playing all the instruments.
Nicki was born into the entertainment industry to parents who were both performers in their own right. First taking to stage at the age of six, she has evolved from a young child singing pop songs of the day, through the 1980’s as a ‘rock chick’ in award winning cover bands and backing singer for international touring artists, to topping the UK country charts in her own right with her self-penned hit, “Be a Star”.
Nicki has two solo studio albums, two studio duet albums (with Bob Howe) and is currently working on her next solo album.
