ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Old Sledge's first-ever recording features a fine assortment of traditional music from the southern mountains, played by some of the finest young musicians in the old time music scene. The cd kicks off with the break-neck "Lost Train Blues", a virtuosic showpiece fiddle tune from the golden era of 30's radio, led by champion old time fiddler Chance McCoy and the relentless driving rhythm of Anna Roberts-Gevalt on Banjo and Sabra Guzmán on guitar. The next track, "Pretty Saro", brings the beautiful harmony singing of Anna and Sabra to the forefront of the band with a unique arrangement featuring Anna's old time finger picked banjo. We could go on to describe more of the wonders on this EP, but that would ruin the great surprises that lay in store for the listener, and we'd have to type too much (we'd rather be outside playing music right now). So, stop being cheap and lazy, get your wallet out and grab a copy for yourself and share it with your friends. Old Sledge will love you long time.
