“Out Late” is the name of Diana Di Gioia’s band and album, and also reflects that she was, to her mind, late in coming out of the closet. The songs therefore speak from an older perspective, of regretting not coming out much younger and what was missed by that; and appreciating a lover from wiser eyes, and, oh yes, with humor…where else would you find a song like “Chrissie Hynde Is A Lesbian (In My Head).” I for one like that this voice is being heard. -- JD Doyle, Producer of Queer Music Heritage and OutRadio
