o x y g e n ~ San Francisco rock band ~ 1999-2000
While everyone was wondering what color lipstick N-Sync would wear next, Oxygen was playing out at Paradise Lounge, Velvet Lounge; even briefly at Slims and Bottom Of The Hill and along with the East Bay and the Penninsula, at times.
With a mix of Big Star, Pixies, and Teenage Fanclub, Oxygen is all about 3 minute songs, the Velvet Underground & Iggy Pop (but they don't sound like them very much), and all things rock n' punk.
Oxygen formed back in the day as an excuse to skip work, eat burritos and stay out late at bars during the week.
Nick, after playing in Porcelain (last heard in TV's "Nash Bridges" and at a Grammy Showcase), joined up with Bassist Jay (from Lucy's Crush, and current Midnite Bombers bassist) and Drummer Mike.
This is their self released EP CD- momentarily played on Live105 and spun alongside The Dwarves (which the band considers one of its greatest accomplishments to date even though they don't own any Dwarves records. Jay falling of the stage during his first show at the Velvet Lounge is a close second).
Recorded by Todd Herfindal and Justin heading up the flight deck controls at TrakWorks Studios previous location in the Mission district of San Francisco.

Sweaterbomb is one of the best song ever.
author: Tommy
The whole CD is good, but Sweaterbomb is a standout. Simple little 3 chord song, but with a wonderful break in each verse. It's everything a crunchy little power-pop song should be.
"You're such a little sweaterbomb!"
