The grooves of STS9. The hot synth leads of Disco Biscuits. The melodic guitars of Lotus. The improvisation of moe. All with vocals that surpass those of every other jam band out there. I discovered Papadosio here on CD Baby, bought Magreenery based on the song samples. Loved it. Downloaded the free ep off their web site--an awesome 4-song collection--and bought this album sight unseen. It's another step forward for an unknown band that should be a lot better know by people who love music that is adventurous yet soulful. This is no home-brewed recording. The production values are top-notch, the performances stellar, the songwriting wonderful. These guys should be headlining the summer festivals. In the meantime, grab the two Papadosio CDs (Magreenery more organic sounding; Observations is a bit more synth-heavy) and support a band that deserves to make it.
