Patience was recorded in 2004-05, with the intention of releasing the album sometime shortly after that.
Five years later, here it is.
We originally named this album "Patience" because, simply, it was the name of the first song on the album. Now it's become kind of a pun! Regardless, the best part of this album remains intact: this is a bunch of friends, making music they were really passionate about, that they had developed for years. It is a culmination of a lot of hard work and development, and it just wouldn't do to have it remain private forever.
What is meaningful to me are the things that are hinted at behind the notes, riffs, wails, basslines and drum smashes: late night gigs, LAN parties, hanging out at each others apartments, and of course those long, epic hangs at the 24 hour diners and coffee houses across NW Ohio. That camaraderie is very much the force behind the music, and I think ultimately that is what makes this music so much fun to listen to today.
Paragon is:
Rob Howard - Guitar
Matt Baumann - Saxophone
Jason Gahler - Bass
Seann Flynn - Drums, Tabla, audio engineering
w/Special Guest Ben Wolkins on trumpet, tracks 3,4, and 5

The Real Deal
author: K. Taylor
This record is the real deal! Absolutely energetic, emotional, and authentic music! The interaction, solos, and compositions are second to none! This is a fantastic fusion record, and most importantly a REAL fusion record! If you add this to your collection, you'll only be the better for it. The guitarist and saxophonist lay down surreal melodies, and great harmonies. Add an explosive trumpet player to the three middle tracks and this record explodes from your speakers. "Patience", "The Gunslinger", and "Highway to the Sun" are explosive, while "Intentions", "Before One" and "Short Expedition" groove. All of a sudden out of nowhere, the ballad "In a lonely Place" just bleeds onto the floor....Mahavishnu, LOOK OUT !!! BUY THIS ALBUM!!!
