Peggy Leyva-Conley was born in Hollister, California, San Benito County on the Central coast, began playing Piano at the age of eight, with an influence to perform by ear, and feel to the Piano as an artist. The Pianist currently makes her home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, Sumner County near Nashville on Old Hickory Lake area.
The Artist music background consists of Classical, Folk, Blues formal training of Piano Theory and yet she retains her own style, creativity by continuing to create original compositions. The Artist has performed for live audience in various parts of California and Tennessee.
The first CD release is titled "Passages of Time" which is a blend of Classical, Symphony and instrumental music.
The Artist is currently working on a second Preliminary CD consisting of original compositions. The latest music composed of is music themes with an interest in motion television narration of movie sounds comprised of original Piano, Instrumental and sound effects. The musical scores each have a title theme pertaining to various subject matters which is portrayed in each song, can be generated into various movie scripts given the artist concepts, ideas as a writer, and as a musician.
The Artist is a Member of “The National League of American Pen Women” in the field of Academics and acceptance by the Panel Board which is head-quartered in Washington D.C. The Artist areas of concentration include Writing, Music and Art as a member of the NLAPW Nashville branch.
Peggy Leyva-Conley’s first solo CD titled “Passages of Time” has seventeen original sound tracks released by the artist and created at Ninja Sound Studio in Hendersonville a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee.
The CD has the following songs which reflect this artist passion for Classical, Ambient, Symphony, self-healing music, and use in dramatic movie sound scripts which can take the listener into a realm all their own.
The Artist was inspired to create this CD as an honor to her heritage which battled the Oceans of time, Sailing on Ships from England, France and Ireland over centuries ago coming to the new world. Many of the Artist ancestors, descendants fought in battles during the Revolutionary and the Civil War in the United States paving a way for generations to come.
Track 1: Journey of the Sea
The song “Journey of the Sea” is about the Artist ancestors sailing on Ships which took a Voyage from Europe to America to the new world.
Track 2: Dance of Dreams
The song “Dance of Dreams” opens up like the sound of a Movie script with compelling emotions felt. The portrayed music expressed is about two long lost lovers which battled a long Journey being apart, finding their way back to their home in Westmoreland, Virginia on the Potomac River in the Estate of her Ancestors the Notable Lee, Davenport families of America during, and after the Civil War has ended. It is a meeting of lovers finding themselves together in a Grand ball room dancing.
Track 3: Passages of Time
This song “Passages of Time” is the title Track of the CD based on the Artists ancestors of England, France and Ireland which came across in Sailing Ships to the New World, many which left Legacy’s in American History such as her 9th Great Uncle President George Washington on his mother’s side of the family with the Surname Ball. This includes other direct descendants found throughout Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, and the United States of America.
Track 4: Heavenly Rain
This is a soft Piano number with a sentimental sound being performed. The song is based on one thousand angels shown in a vision which cried tears down from heaven as they watched from above the trails, tribulations in this life given to an individual. It is about sustaining the will to continue walking in this life throughout the journey with faith, and perseverance upholding the shield of protection from a higher spiritual power as a believer in god.
Track 5: Room of Light
The Piano song “Room of Light” is a message about heavenly prayers that are heard and a higher power brings by sending a golden light throughout a window down into a hallway. The Ray of Light comes into a room to show that the Sun will rise and shine again. It is a metaphor for hoping in all things good that will come again in a person’s life.
Track 6: Normandy Night
The song “Normandy Night” is based on the Artist ancestors of Normandy, France the “Fugate” families of her Grandmother side of the family which sailed to Baltimore, Maryland, settled in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and across the United States considered some of the early families found in early America in 1661.
Track 7: Ballerina Dancer
The song “Ballerina Dancer” is based on the Artist home place in Northern California on a Ranch where she was raised, and a bedroom in the color of soft violet which was filled with vintage and collectible antiques in boxes. On a dresser sat a pink jewelry box containing a ballerina dancer she use to wind up as a young girl and the sun would appear through the white sheer curtains on warm summer days.
Track 8: Palette of Colors
The song “Palette of Colors” is a Classical Piano number with intense and emotional expression throughout the performance.
Track 9: Autumn Leaves
The Piano song “Autumn Leaves” performed by the artist is a song mixed in with special sound effects of the forest and nature. The song implies that all Seasons come and go to bring renewal upon the earth, and into people’s lives.
Track 10: Sunrise Early Morning
The song “Sunrise Early Morning” opens up with an up-tempo Piano performance by the artist. The song is based on residing on Old Hickory Lake, looking out at the Sunrise, Pink Sky, reflections of the water, taking walks, watching, and hearing the wide variety of animal species found in the area make nature calls each morning.
Track 11: Red Rose
The song “Red Rose” is a Violin Instrumental based on the Artist love for writing Poetry a dedication to Poets, Painters, Dancers, Musicians and writers.
Track 12: Midnight Stroll
The song “Midnight Stroll” is about two-lovers walking along the Ocean shore to face the Unity which brought them together from a Journey across the seas. The lovers both face the emotional unrest that each feels trying to find their paths in a new world. They both try to find peace by listening to the Seashells with their ears hoping to hear a “calling” as the vast Ocean waves speak to their hearts as they sit, and meditate on the shore.
Track 13: Passion in Heart
The song “Passion of Heart” is based on the emotional feelings that lovers find when exploring themselves. The song has a timeless feel to the expression of silent love, words not spoken, yet felt by touch, hidden feelings, and the bonding of a person’s spirit inner-twined as one.
Track 14: Moonlight in the Parlor
The Piano song “Moonlight in the Parlor” is a number based on the emotional complexities of relationships that can bring each season filled with Wind, Snow, Rain, and the Sun through unconditional love of accepting life as it is given. The song is about the reflection of a Moon lit night causing a reflection on a woman’s face as she stares at the gentle softness of Ocean Waves pounding against the surf while in the parlor room.
Track 15: Belfast Jazz Nights
The song “Belfast Jazz Nights is a Piano number taking place in Belfast, Ireland with artist, painters, writers, musicians which hangout in the center of its artist community on a warm evening together.
Track 16: Tribal Visions
The song “Tribal Visions” is a special dedication to the Artist ancestors of her 11th Great-Grandparents Sir John Rolfe and Princess “Pocahontas” Matoaka Rebecca Powhatan part of the original settlement of Jamestown, Virginia an early colony once under the British rule. Also it is a dedication to the Artist roots found in various parts of Virginia, Eastern Tennessee of native Cherokee, Choctaw heritage mixed with her English, French, Irish roots settling in the Appalachians, Sequatchie Valley, and the Cumberland Plateau.
Track 17: Oriental Bells
This song is an instrumental number with a mixture of sound on bells, drums and piano. The sound takes you on a visual journey to the Orient with a relaxing melody taking the listener to a different place and time as the listener.
