"None Of These Are Words" is the culmination of three years of effort from Percolator, with some songs just as old as the band. The majority of the album are staples of Percolator's live show, honed from tireless rehearsal and performance. Each of the members of the band shines here in turn, including vocal and lyrical duties by the drummer on "Charley Varrick (Don Siegel, 1973)" and album closer "Marquee at Sundown," which also features guest vocals from Allá singer Lupe Martinez, guest keyboards by Pat Droppleman, and guest horns by Frank Youngwerth and Josh Younger. Recorded by engineer Mike McGovern, the offerings on this album are the 12 fore-runners from a 25 song, exhaustive recording session in summer of 2009, meant to catalog years worth of scattered ideas.
