The Naptime Sessions is the honest sound of my friends and I playing in my sunroom while my baby boy was sleeping. No Auto-Tune, no Pro-Tools; just a nice front porch vibe. You'll hear layered acoustic guitars, cello, piano, harmonica, handclaps, and that's about it. The vocals are intimate, and the harmonies ride nicely. All in all, it's a relaxed vibe.
Most of the songs are about my family - meeting my wife, becoming a dad, and turning into a grown-up. Some I wrote when I was rejoicing, some when I was grieving, and some when I was reminiscing. In the end, I think they're honest with my experiences, and I'm proud of that.
Enjoy the results of this summer's Naptime Sessions - I hope the songs speak to you.
I'm also happy to say that The Naptime Sessions is available as a digital download for FREE. (If you want a physical disk, the small price simply reflects the cost for me to produce one and ship it after CD Baby gets their cut.) Why free, you ask? Because frankly, I'm too busy being a dad and a husband and a teacher and cleaning gutters to promote it, that's why.
Instead, I figured why not just throw the music out there and people can enjoy it on their own? If you like it, feel free to let me know by sending me a warm handwritten letter containing a lock of your hair. If you hate the songs, simply delete them and get on with your joyless life.
