Album Notes

The debut album from Petroleum Falcon attempts to conjure up that brief period when progressive rock was refreshing and creative. In other words, before it began to collapse under its own weight like a neutron star. Musical quotes dot the landscape as if they were bread crumbs leading the way in (or out). Three pieces from uber-classic film scores are covered here, an homage to modern composers who probably won't like them very much.

Other influences include Romantic composers like Herold and Grieg, who's music could often become a soundtrack to the invisible movie playing in your head (if you're into that sort of thing) and of course Hendrix, Hackett, Howe, Hillage, Tibbetts, Fripp, Beck, Page, Gilmour and the rest...
