Album Notes

The Poppa Vein Band plays no excuses rock and roll. Their songs are heavily influenced by classic rock bands such as AC/DC, ZZ Top, Tom Petty, Ted Nugent, and the Rolling Stones. But they add modern touches from influences such as Joe Satriani and Joe Bonamassa. The result is new music that sounds fresh yet familiar.

The lyrical content is amusing, sophisticated, and cohesive on this concept album – where everything ties in to the Bad Blood theme in some respect. Using wit and wisdom through unpretentious story telling in their lyrics adds a depth not often found in rock and roll any longer.

The band is the brain child of Randy Morter and David Nunez, out of Phoenix, Arizona. The songs were written and recorded over a period from 2007 to the release year of 2009.

Fan Comments:

"Take me" musically, is incredible. The arrangement mixed with the great vocal hook makes me believe that it should be played on the radio nationally." -- Randy H., Phoenix, AZ

"I knew [Dream of More] was gonna be cool with the feedback intro. Sweet chunky riffage -- I think it's amazing how every note in your distorted chords and palm mutes ring out so clear. I love the insane diminished thing beginning at 1:42 followed by the melodic geetar. I dig the lyrics -- they fit the music well, as your songs always do." -- Tom W., Vancouver, WA

"I am going to make a wah wah face in a box, in a box, in a box J... The songs are catchy and I like the strictly music interludes... Anyway, it’s a great CD... When you are going to the be the opener out at Cricket?" -- Cara P., Phoenix, AZ

"I LIKE it!! Post it!!!" -- Jim M., Stafford, VA

"...thanks for the music link! [Bad Blood] sounds good!!. I like the vocals on there. How did you get the pitch so high, or can you sing that high?" -- Ryan M., Portland, OR
