ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Songs for Parrotheads, pirates, island dreamers, drinkers and boaters.
This collection of Caribbean flavored songs is sure to take your attention to points south, wanting Rum Runners and Pina Coladas. Listeners have claimed to "feel" warmer when this tropical music is playing.
A 32 track digital production with Soca, Reggae, Calypso, Buffett and Americana styles with steel drum, marimba and Florida based acoustic guitarist and songwriter Rick Steffen on vocals.
"Another Island" shows that Steffen indeed has discovered islands other than Margaritaville!
Along with Buffett-esque island pop, this CD includes the delightfully ska-flavored "Sherry Girl", several energenitic soca (soul-calypso) styles, & the folkstyle narrative ballad, "Hurricane," in which Steffen dons a gruff voice to become the Gordon Lightfoot of the Caribbean.
Steffen delivers a mountain-sized hoot with "Pinchin' My Penny," a witty talk-song in which he makes just about every Monetary pun in the ledger as he tells of a lass
who led him astray. Sequil to "the fish song" on Tropical Nights. HTTP://www.KEYWESTMUSIC.NET.

Laura

love the cd
I really like this CD. It is very original.

Paul R. West

It ranks with the masters, Higgins and Buffett
The song that grabed me right off was Hurricane. It had such an ominous sound to it.

Rick has hit a home run!
I am a Jimmy Buffett fan who came across Rick While at a local pulp in Daytona and loved his music right away. This CD is a must have for pretty much everyone. The beats, the lyrics and the style can get anyone moving. Sloppy Joe is my favorite on the CD. Thank you Rick keep on turning out the tunes.

Great Tropical Escapism for parrotheads, sailors, island lovers!
Smart lyrics, good music and a great mix of musical styles make this a CD that will have your toes tappin' and your mind taking a trip to the tropics with every listen.

Unwind in island time.
A pretty good album over with a mixed bag of musical styles giving homage to the Carribean islands. Admittedly some songs on the album I liked more than others with "Out On The Ocean" being the song I liked most. "Pinchin' My Penny" is sort of a Steely Dan meets Kip Addotta (Rick actually does a cover of Kip Addotta's classic "Wet Dream" on his album Tropical Nights). "Wine Wine Wine" is a good bluesy number worthy of repeated listening and also one of the better cuts on the CD. Overall a pretty good album to add to your collection.
