The first release from singer-songwriter Rachel Schain, this EP explores the concept of fleeting joy versus lasting happiness. There are a lot of things that are going to seem like they’re the right path when you’re taking them because they make you happy right then and there, but you’re going to have to go back to reality sooner or later. The interplay between short- and long-term happiness is felt on all of the tracks of the record, including “The Way I Love You,” a deeply personal tune about her development as an artist. “This song really embodies the theme of Happy Happy more than any other. I spent a long time being everyone else’s biggest fan and putting all my energy into their happiness, which left none for myself. This song came out of realizing that if I put that energy into my own projects, I’d be a lot happier as a person." Happy Happy also features “Not My Place,” a snarky smackdown from a jilted lover, and fan favorite anthem for the underappreciated “Rockstar, Bitch!” “Sometimes you just have to remind yourself that you’re bound for bigger and better things.”
