Album Notes

This CD is the culmination of experiences touring, recording and learning from the masters, all the while believing that you must develope your own place in music. The artist has tried to bring the message of traditional appreciation and at the same time serve it to the audience as palletable as possible. The new CD has the energy of contemporary music and represents favorite classic Blues and original material.
As a sideman and with his band Lippincott has traveled to 18 countries on four continents. Although better known as a bassist, he plays guitar, sings and fronts his own band. He's played behind Bo Didley, Mick Taylor, Shemekia Copeland, Jimmy Rogers, Pinetop Perkins, Johnny Littlejohn, Louisiana Red, Carol Fran and Clarence Holliman, Lazy Lester, Sonny Rhodes, Eddie Kirkland, John Hammond Jr., James Harmon, Debbie Davies, Steve Guyger and many others. Most notably he toured and recorded with Johnny 'Clyde' Copeland as bandleader for eight years and was nominated for a Grammy with Luther 'Guitar Jr.' Johnson and the Magic Rockers in 1998 for his work on the CD 'Got To Find A Way' on Telarc.
When Johnny Copeland passed away in 1997 Shemekia Copeland asked Lippincott to stay on as bandleader in her newly formed band, but he opted to come off the road and concentrate on his own career. "I knew she was destined for stardom, but I had to do my own thing" he explains. The Randy Lippincott Band is based in the Philadelphia and has a reputation of delivering energetic shows. Their long awaited third CD features Joey 'Hotbox' Simon, Glenn Bickel, Jimmy Pritchard, Bob Holden and special guests Elias Bernet from Switzerland, Leo Joseph from Australia and Chris Greene from Randy's old neighborhood. They're doing fine and there are no regrets. Check it out!
