Album Notes

Richard began writing and playing professionally at the age of 15 and now has nearly 100 songs to his name. In the past 10 years he has developed the healing qualities of his music. This is his first album of 18 Songs of Healing from his collection he calls PEACEWORKS. While the music has not been tested objectively, most of Richard's listeners find it to be relaxing and along with the optimistic themes, it is in line with several contemporary healing theories. The main themes are of peace, love, happiness, and the healing process itself. The Jazz and Jazz Fusion styles are an exception to the rule that healing music is found in the New Age category. Happily, the styles of this album fill the bill of Music of Healing. Richard has taught music in the schools including music in special education and has studied Music and Dance Therapies extensively.

Song of Healing

I have been privy to Rich Eisenberg's musical journey since collaborating with him in The Bucknell University Jazz Band, co-founded by him in the 1960's. It was obvious, even then, that he was a gifted, hugely innovative musician and composer. I have found Song of Healing to be everything he hopes it to be.............soothing, contemplative, and spiritual. For me, this CD has become a frequently played "friend" if I happen to be having a bad day. I heartily recommend it.

Being a jazz musician myself, I can appreciate the many chord stuctures and melodies in this beautiful work. It is not only technically correct but is obviously crafted by a true artist whose originality and temperment leaves the listener not only in a calmer state but uplifted as well. I can only recommend Mr. Eisenberg's work as one of a series of powerful moments, a gift to us all, a profound statement.
