Album Notes

Birthed in the sultry streets of New Orleans, this newest album finally pays homage to the intense and powerful vocal arrangements of sisters Leah and Chloe. With 15 previously unrecorded original and traditional compositions, this album includes some unexpected treasures like the jazzy standard St James Infirmary, Otis Redding's "You Don't Miss Your Water", a piercing traditional Appalachian ballad Across the Blue ridge Mountains, and elaborate new poetic purging, and 2 bonus fully remixed tracks at the end. With 10 new guests musicians hailing from the streets of New Orleans, the this album incorporates extraordinary harmonies, 6-part a'capella singing, classical cello, harmonium, congas, alto saxophone, double bass, trumpet, and kalimba... plus the highly anticipated double-sister harmonies and subtle ring of the banjo reinvented.

This new work revels in the sisters Leah and Chloe's expansive vision of sound and really captures the great depth of their vocal prowess. Recorded in the world renowned Piety Street Studios in New Orleans, and loaded with spirit, "The Sails of Self" is truly a full aural experience.
