This song was written in earnest yet frivolous mood while dwelling on the horrible events which took place on 9-11 and also on the attack of the USS Cole. The song was not written to offend anyone or any particular religion... but to ponder.

First and foremost... let me say that I hope you have not been offended in any way by the term: "redneck Jesus". You see recently while having lunch with friends someone first said grace and included a few nice words about Jesus. Later during the course of our meal, and while discussing politics, the state of the world in general, etc. I mentioned that I personally felt like "what we need right now is a redneck Jesus". This got a few laughs as well as a couple of dirty looks my way so I quickly added that perhaps Jesus is a bit mad at this point and that maybe He's gonna come back down here for another visit... but this time not as Mr. Nice Guy. Instead maybe as your typical redneck... ready to take names and ... well you know the rest. Anyway, being that I write and perform various novelty songs I decided this one had to be written. Just keep in mind that the lyrics are "what I'm thinking"... we all know that our sweet Jesus would never, ever come back as a redneck. Right?
