Album Notes
“Stay Awhile” features everything from the playful lyrics of the title track, to the sweet melody of “Waltz For Dorothy” (featuring Hans Teuber on alto sax) to the heartbreak of “Tryin’ to Get By”. Michael Eads guitar leads the way in the swinging tune, “Ready for Love”. Smith tributes Count Basie with his composition “Basie Steps” once again featuring “Hans solo” on tenor sax. Seattle’s Hammond B-3 master, Roger Wood, is featured on “As Long as I’m with You” and “On My Knees to Pray”.
