ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Shane lives on California's central coast with his wife and daughter. Though he is a successful surfboard shaper by trade, he's been in bands his whole life and is addicted to music. This is his first solo endeavor working and producing in professional record-making facilities. It took four years of off and on sessions while money was saved up for studio time. There were also plenty of hours on the phone coercing professional musician-friends to donate their time to the sessions. Most songs were recorded at Painted Sky Studios, Cambria, CA by Steve Crimmell. All other tracks recorded, produced, and mixed at The Workspace by Ron Work, Santa Cruz. Mastered by Norman Krow at Plateau Sound.

"This was one of my favorite records to work on in a long time!" -Norman Krow, mastering owner/engioneer for Plateau Sound.

Shane described the genesis of the record:
"The songs themselves grew out of my time living in a small California beach town--an idea on the verge of extinction. My wife and I lived in a little house across highway one where we could watch the surf and the sunsets that splattered the sky every evening. A great percentage of the songs were penned there sitting next to the wall heater in the early morning hours with a pot of coffee and my cat curled up, judging every measure as the offshore winds ripped over the roof. This record is a timepiece of those moments by the seaside... I wanted to create a sonic place where love and art and hope commingle and wash in the tide. The whole project was an incredible learning experience and I thank all who were involved for their generosity and incredible talent."

I added this cd to the eternal jam in my soul.
Grady first introduced me to the Cayotes "Box of Blues" album. He said "check these guys out, they charge life!" I realy enjoyed this new album, thanks for keeping your feet in the sand.

I liked this CD so much, I have been buying them for gifts.
The songs on this CD do not all sound the same making it attractive to various people with varying tastes.
One of the songs makes me want to open a bottle of wine and forget the stress of the day. It is the perfect end to an active day.

Crazy Joe

This cat rode a big wave, and pulled it off with style
Shane Stoneman is one of those gentleman that is full of artistic style and powerful grace. His music and art barely compares to his incredible surfing ability. I've seen him drop in on such big waves, that I wanted to be in Omaha on a couch with a pile of empty beer cans and a TV remote on the sofa, instead of getting clobbered by the next set wave.
Always a pleasure to hear his songs, and this album is a wonderful re-creation of his sublime spirit. Aloha and love from Crazy Joe

Great groovy music!
Wow I love this record. It has been a while since I have played a new album this many times! The songs really stand on their own feet without sounding derivative or any other musician. Great addition to any music collection.
