Our 2nd CD release showcases Sadza's enjoyment of playing with Zimbabwean musicians. We invited our friends Julia Chigamba, Ronnie Daliyo, Zivanai Masango and the members of Mbira dzeMuninga (Jacob Mafuleni, Micah Munhemo, Tonderai Ndava and Peacheson Ngoshi) to join us in recording these tunes and we hope that shared energy comes through to you!
As on our first CD, "Mukonde weSadza", we offer a mixture of marimba and mbira music, with hosho (gourd shakers), drum and vocals in the Shona language. We added electric guitar to two tracks this time - enjoy the blend.
Members of Sadza are Cathy Crystal, Kim Dowling, Jill Duran, Leslye Lawrence, Becca Moeller, Steve Spitalny, Cliff Warner and Betty Weiss.
We were delighted to be able to use the art of Julia Cairns as our beautiful album cover.
