Album Notes

This album is a conversation between myself and pianist, Daniel May, whom I have known for some time now. Although we no longer live in the same city, we still share the same musical sensibilities. Our frequent conversations about recording a new album lead to my getting on a plane with a stack of music....but no real game plan. The more we talked, the more Daniel and I returned to the idea of a conversation between two people. And so it began. Over a few days, we collaborated and selected tunes we both liked, grooves that felt right, and we ate a few meals in between. The songs I had written found their personalities, and at the end of our sessions, not a single song had been scrapped. Obviously, we shared a similar perspective on things.
