Album Notes

In his rookie debut album keyboardist Scott Haas shows what a 59 year old retiree can accomplish with less than one year of piano playing and no prior musical background. Most songs feature a Boogie Woogie left hand bass line style of playing. Six of the nine songs on the album are originals by Scott. The other three songs are Boogie Beau -Tized arrangements of old American classics which pre-date 1922 and are now in the public domain. All instrument tracks were played on a Roland Juno Stage keyboard and recorded via MIDI connection into Sonar LE. Audio was recorded through a Behringer XENYX X1222USB mixer and into Sonar LE. A Shure SM58 microphone was used for recording the vocals. Drum patterns include originals and patterns from the Juno Stage and a BOSS DR 880 rhythm machine. Acoustic bass lines were created using the DR-880 and some played simply by foot using a Roland PK-5A bass pedal which connects via MIDI into the Juno Stage.
