Introductions is Scott Kemp's first album as a bandleader and composer. If you like music that is contemporary, instrumental, melodic, moody, employing open formed structure while maintaining a toe tappin' head bobbin' groove throughout, this may be music that is interesting for you. It features all of the musicians in the band at different points throughout the album. Each piece of music demands the musicians playing specifically written parts, as well as improvising and interacting with the other members of the band, all within the form of the compositions. The music allows the musicians to employ both disciplined and artistically creative reactions to whatever is happening at the moment.
