Album Notes

In late 1998, songwriter/musician/multi-instrumentalist Robert Oakes formed the folk-rock/world-fusion band Seedensoul, an eclectic group that drew inspiration from a wide array of cultural sources. The band – which also featured Jason Loughlin on guitar, mandolin, banjo and dobro, David Hunscher on upright and electric bass, Jonathan Ward on drums and percussion and Michael Robbins on violin and viola – finished its self-titled debut album in May, 1999 and played a series of gigs in the NYC-area, where audiences began to take notice of their artful, passionate music and exciting live performances. Not long after the completion of the record, however, members of the group decided to pursue other interests, and by fall of that year, Seedensoul had disbanded.

In 2010, Oakes worked with Mastering Engineer Garrett Haines of Treelady Studio, Turtle Creek, PA, on a remaster of the 1999 release.
