Album Notes

After being premiered in London in 2008, A Changing World played a sell-out, record breaking season at New York’s 59E59 theaters under the title Coward at Christmas. This 75 minute program brings a wonderful evening of Coward sophistication, wit and warmth.  It blends great Coward classics and some rediscovered comedy gems, unearthed from the British Library, with lesser-known work that is given new life with Shrubsole's arrangements and a fresh Green interpretation.

The show is a swift, entertaining immersion in the Coward style led by a charming practitioner of the elevated parlando cabaret approach, in which singing and talking blend together. Stephen Holden - New York Times
Sometimes witty and acidic, sometimes warm and nostalgic, the Coward canon is well-served by Green, who seems tailor-made for the intimate space. Fern Siegel - The Huffington Post
Green is aided greatly by Shrubsole's inventive arrangements, which provide fresh musical spins on material that is too often reduced to mere quaintness. Frank Sheck - New York Post
