Album Notes

Four songs from the album are finalists in the prestigious WAM (West Australian Music Industry) Song of the Year 2009 and 2010 - These tracks are The Other Side, Burning, A Wise Man and Rag Doll. The album was produced by Lez Karski (Bondi Cigars, Nick Cave, Midnight Oil, The Triffids, Yothu Yindi) and Simone Keane. It was mixed by Kim Lofts and Lee Buddle and mastered by Lee Buddle at Crank Recording in Perth, Western Australia.

Some of the finest musicians from the South West Coast play on album: Simone Keane (lead vocals, backing vocals, guitar, percussion), Lez Karski (lead guitar, percussion), Tim Turnbull (bass), Bronton Ainsworth (drums), Andrew Clermont (5 string Epoch violin, mandolin), Andrew Sumner (piano, keys), Evan Holmes (saxophone), Ashleigh Evans (cello), Bob Lipinski (harmonica), Dave Rastrick (trumpet, flugel horn), Joel Barter (percussion).

The album is thematic based around personal freedom. In the title track Keane sings about setting alight all of her clothes, a metaphor for doing away with those parts of our lives that no longer serve us. The songs are contemplative with a story telling intent based on Keane's life experiences. At times hauntingly beautiful, at times sassy, groovy and upbeat, this album is a timeless classic appealing to all ages.
