Winter 2007, NAMM Convention, little did two well-known musicians know that 3 years later they would be the founding members of a band called SPEED X, and now releasing their debut CD entitled “Flatblack”, through Evil Twin Records. In addition to the CD drop, SPEED X is currently in talks with Black Label Society for an upcoming opening slot on a WORLD Tour, early 2010 in support of “Flat Black” the CD.

The band formed approximately three years ago as a side project of guitarist Nick Catanese, with Black Label Society, who enlisted guitarist Mike Stone from Queensryche, drummer Mike Foredge and bassist Josh Sattler from doubleDrive, then recently brought in Jason Fowler on vocals to round out this industry proven powerhouse.

College radio stations across the nation feel Flatblack will finally give listeners a new, fresh, rock sound, along with National radio stations waiting for the CD to get into rotation…….

The band’s music is, quite simply, built for speed. All five members are adrenalin junkies, whether it’s Mike Stone racing motorcycles, Nick Catanese taking laps in a 150 mph car around the track or Jason hitting the inline downhill course at 40+ mph, feeling like his eyes were bleeding, the boys love their adrenalin!
